It’s A Porcupine Palooza
African Safari Wildlife Park recently opened a brand new personal feeding experience with long time residents of the Park, their African Crested Porcu- pines.
African Crested Porcupines are the largest Porcu- pines in the world. Their quills cover their body and can be 1-13 inches long. Don’t worry though, it is a common misconception that Porcupines shoot their quills. They are actually used for defense to make their body appear larger to enemies as well as hooking onto predators when touched directly.
The Porcupine Feeding Experience, the newest engaging encounter at the Park, is available in the Walk-Thru Safari, located at the Porcupine Exhibit di- rectly next to the White Alligator Exhibit. Porcupine Feedings officially began Saturday June, 16th. Feed-
ing times are 12:45, 2:45, and 4:45 PM Daily. Tickets
