Meet Our Readers
Judy Kania, Put-in-Bay

Living on Lake Erie is something that islanders like Judy Kania find irresistible. The transplant from Temperance, Michigan is not only a Buckeye fan, but an avid reader of Leisure Living Magazine which began appearing in her post office box shortly after she relocated in 2004.
“I enjoy the recipes and cooking articles,” she declared, “but love the upcoming events the most!”
Kania is one of about 400 year round residents on Put-in-Bay and appreciates the group’s willingness to support one another in times of need. She has been active with the Perry Group and recalls all the group’s effort to contact Senators and State Representatives to acquire the distinctive personalized Put-in-Bay license plates.
“We worked so hard on the Bicentennial,” Kania reminisced. “This is just such a phenomenal place to live!”
Kania enjoys gardening and reading in her free time, but loves island living the most.

.....and welcome to the May Edition of Leisure
Living Magazine. We have been working hard all winter to bring you fabulous content for your summer 2016 reading!
Among our winter projects was planning for the launch of two new, regular columns for Leisure Living Magazine.
I may be prejudiced, but I think our readers are a pretty interesting and amazing group of people. So we are turning the tables by introducing the first new column in this edition and it is YOU, “Meet Our Readers”. Sharon Sweda is artfully crafting the vignettes and we hope you enjoy getting to know
more about each other. Read our first profile here, on the interests of Put-in-Bay resident Judy Kania.
In June we will launch a regular series of articles regarding Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Caregivers. The series will be researched and authored by local resident, Theresa Bowen, PhD. You will find it educational and we welcome your thoughts.
