The Beckoning Path
While walking along near the edge
of the wood,
I discover a path. Should I enter? I could! And as I step forward, the magic unfolds; The flora, the fauna, the creatures....... behold!
The path calls me further and further within.
The beautiful world of nature begins With each feathery fern, each tall, stately tree.
And listen....... the sounds of the birds calling me.
My journey continues but not without care, For all around there are dangers. Beware! Poison ivy, a stumble, or a slip
of the foot......
What if I fall or I trip on a root?
Should I go further? Should I turn around? But the path seems to beckon with its sights and its sounds.
What will I find at the end of my walk; A pond, or a clearing, perhaps chipmunks, a hawk?
God’s gifts surround me with each sight I see As if it was all put there just for me.
As the sun shines around in a shimmering bath
I come to the end of my Beckoning Path.
