Interesting And Unique
If you’re in the mood to try something different, World Tai Chi and Qi Gong Day will be observed in the Great Hall of the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky on Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28. You can also take part in a Tai Chi experience the following day, as part of the Earth Day Extravaganza at Osborn MetroPark. Both events are conducted by Sifu Dennis White, who will offer free classes on Tuesdays in June at the Erie Room at Osborn MetroPark.
Many other locations will host Earth Day observances that weekend.
Mello Cellos
In keeping with the “something different” theme – the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council and The Listening Room Port Clinton are hosting the “Mello Cellos” event on April 30. The free fundraiser features music, food, a cash bar, a signature drink designed by members of the arts council (I’m told they are being very thorough in their testing process), and the silent auction of gift baskets donated by several area businesses. The focus of this event will be four cellos, each decorated by a local artist and offered in a silent auction.
Shopping Time!
I plan to enjoy May with a little shopping – but not the usual type. The Island-Wide Garage Sale on Put-in-Bay is May 18, and the Lakeside Heritage Society Recycle Sale runs from May 24 through 27. It’s time to go treasure hunting!
