2018 Vietnam War Commemoration Day
The Vietnam War Commemoration Committee has once again partnered with several Service Organizations, the Ottawa County Veterans Service Office, and local veterans to announce the 5th and final Ottawa County, Vietnam War Commemoration Day on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Camp Perry.
This day, which is nationally celebrated on March 29th, is set aside to acknowledge the brave service men and women who served during the Vietnam War. The day includes an opening ceremony, musical entertainment, complimentary meal, several informational booths, military items, and much more.
In addition to the above, the committee will also be hosting the Traveling Wall from May 31 through June 3.
Ottawa County Community Foundation Elects Officers
The Ottawa County Community Foundation, Inc. recently elected the following officers to head the Foundation in 2018: Joy Roth, President; Jan Preston, Vice President; Marcia Jess, Secretary; and John Madison, Treasurer. In addition, Mary Coffee, Tina Hablitzel, Jon James, and John Madison were re-elected to three year terms on the Board of Directors. Brian Koenig, from Elmore, was approved as the newest board member.
“With current assets of over $8.3 million, which are invested for the future, we were able to support 29 special projects by local organizations, 107 students seeking higher education, as well as other donor directed giving,” said President Roth.

Evening Out With Art
Phillip Carrisalez explains the process of creating miniatures to a guest of Evening Out With Art hosted by the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council. Carrisalez and John Popson co-own EffinCool Miniatures in Port Clinton. They shared their story and their amazing talent with the guests.
