He said the City is doing a fantastic job at leading the revitalization efforts. “There is a lot going on and lots of positive things here,” he said.
With the introduction of a downtown hotel, and the opening of
the Jackson Street Pier, visitors have
lots of opportunities to stay downtown

Jim Erwin and Dick Ries are the co-owners of Sandusky Segwave, which offers guided tours of the City of Sandusky on Segways. They have been operating their business, which is located in the State Theater building, since 2017. They said they are very optimistic about the year ahead.
Erwin said that the strength and charm of Sandusky lies in its locally-owned businesses. “Our strength is that we are not ‘franchised.’ We have unique and local businesses like a unique sandwich shop, an urban market and even apartments in the area,” he added.
Dick Ries added, “The variety of different experiences people can partake in is wonderful with restaurants, galleries, parks and museums. ” Visitors can also enjoy the lake by taking a boat ride on the Jet Express to Cedar Point and the Islands,” he added.
The Jackson Street Pier, which was renovated and opened in 2020 attracts people who enjoy just relaxing and those who enjoy fishing, Ries said.
The Mylander Pavilion on the Pier can host events for just under 100 people indoors and can be expanded into the outdoor plaza area to accommodate more people.
This year, the Pier will be the scene of two free outdoor concerts presented by the
