and swimming in her underwear, whereas I was headed into Michelene Bernadin territory with my va va voom physique reminiscent of Annette Funicello in the Beach Blanket Bingo movies. Oh wait, you are right. I do look a bit more like John Boy Walton with my blunt bob and string bean physique.
Grandma Aggie had me in a bikini even before Annette. Even before the 1960 hit “The Itsty Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” song, which I later loved singing.
I did not like my Grandma Aggie label bikini for a several reasons. The first being, I wanted to be free in just underwear to swim like my lucky little sister, and my brother in his bottoms only trunks. Also, it is not fun to be date mates with the window curtains.
The other reason should be clear to you by now, Gentle Reader. When the bottoms of the bikini got wet they looked like I had about 12 walleye in my pants.
Fashion statement or a fishing companion. You be the judge.
