Unique to his background is his international marine business experience in the chemical indus- try. His extensive business travels allowed him to visit shipyards as a supplier of ship coatings and adhesives. He used this opportunity to visit local
marine museums and learn of their history and ship building industry.
Founded 26 years ago, museum Executive Director, John May acknowledges that he has many great people with their “shoulder to the wheel,” however “Dave with his experience in industry and business leadership has been mak- ing an impact on the operation of the museum whether it’s during his weekly shift as a docent and resident model builder, as a research fellow work- ing on exhibit upgrades or as a strategic planner helping to transition vision to reality.”
Homes For The Holidays:
Volunteer Christine Wolf’s Special Gift
By Elizabeth Roth, Feature Writer
Volunteerism must be something that gets into one’s blood and remains there forever, at least that’s might be said of one volunteer named Christine Wolf. Christine, who with her husband Gary lives in the Berlin Milan area, volunteered for years with the Firelands Symphony and then joined the Library Board in the Milan-Berlin Library System. Last year she was instrumental in creating the “Friends of the Library Tour of Homes” in Milan, a very successful walking tour of homes. This year she and her team are at it again, this time focus- ing on homes in Berlin Heights with a driving tour. Resident Jacque Gammie and Christine are co-chairs of the Berlin Heights Tour of Homes, 2019: “Homes for the Holidays”. In fact, Jacque’s home, built in 1914 in Quarry Hill Orchards, is included in this year’s tour. Almost destroyed in a fire several years ago, the home is now completely restored to its former beauty.
This year’s “Tour
of Homes” features six amazing homes, a bas-
ket raffle in the library,
and music events the day
of the tour, December 7, 2019, 1 – 5 p.m. There will be two concerts at the library on the day of the tour. The Moorhens (Celtic Music Group) will perform at 1:00 and the Last Call Trio (light jazz Christmas music) at 2:30. Visitors to the homes and the library may also want
