Bringing A Dream Alive Rosalyn Shepherd

What happens when a dream is born in heart and mind? With even a mustard seed’s worth of faith and mountains of effort, it can become real. Just one conversation with spirit-filled yet modest Rosalyn Shepherd demonstrates her ability to sow and harvest dreams. The name of her “dream
because she sought a way to address issues with students. The idea was to bring local pastors inside the school to walk the halls, talk with students, and make a positive difference in their lives. Rosalyn began by creating a prayer for schools and students, which was implemented on school sidewalks. After further research Rosalyn discovered a Dallas-based National Church Adopt A School Initiative founded by Pastor Tony Evans. She received training and became the Founder/ CEO of SCAASP, a volunteer movement which trains volunteers to take part in ministries in schools. SCAASP serves Sandusky City Schools, its staff and students. Rosalyn also trains volun- teers to start their own Adopt A School chapter in nearby cities. Last year the Sandusky volunteers served over 780 students in its Back to School Rally. Several ministries currently serve students in grades 7-10 within the school day involving team building, character building and positive self-esteem.
Rosalyn feels the most rewarding experience has been to see the look and expression on faces of students. Volunteers are making a positive difference in their lives. The greatest challenge
