Chef in the Spotlight Chef Chuck Wegner
Of Landmark Kitchen & Bar, Sandusky

As a kid growing up in Norwalk, Chuck Wegner watched his mom making “something good out of nothing for dinner. Mom is a great cook,” Wegner emphasizes.
Today the executive chef of Landmark Kitchen & Bar in Sandusky creates extraordinary cuisine from ‘clean, simple ingredients’. “I believe in letting the food do the talking. Let nature run its course and it will happen,” Wegner says.

Landmark is co-owned by David Bier and Dawson Foster who also co-own the Shore House Tavern. Bier also operates another down- town Sandusky restaurant, Daly’s Pub. Bier says, “Landmark is in a great location and a nice build- ing that compliments what is already there. Our reception has been great from tourists and locals.”

His skills were perfected by stints in Charleston, South Carolina, Keystone Resort in Colorado where he also taught cooking classes and Plum Brook Country Club in Sandusky. Recently, he held a position at Vermilion’s Chez Francois adding to his resume and culinary skills.
