Downtown Fremont Is Alive With Dining, Shopping And Events

Visit the Farmer’s Market and other themed events in downtown Fremont.
During the last several years, dedicated com- munity members, merchants and business own- ers have steadily breathed new life into down- town Fremont. This on-going labor of love has included a beautification program, the preserva- tion and transformation of historical buildings, support for unique new business start-ups, and exciting year-round community events—all of which have restored the downtown as a vibrant center of activity.
A short drive from the lakeshore, Fremont is conveniently located just south of the Ohio Turnpike and is banked by the winding Sandusky River. Its historic downtown district, steps from the riverbank, encompasses over 75 acres and is home to a central business district as well as historic and residential properties. Chic eateries (including The Garrison, a two-story restaurant in the historic Garrison building), boutiques, and the beautifully restored Paramount Cinema have invigorated the now walkable, livable and vibrant downtown.
