U.S. Marine Corp Quintet To Perform At Hayes Centennial
A brass quintet from “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band will perform during the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museums Centennial Celebration, which takes place Memorial Day weekend. Fremont native Master Gunnery Sgt. Amy Horn, a French Horn player, is a member of the quintet.
The quintet will perform from 3 to 4:30 pm on Saturday, May 28, on the Hayes Home verandah. It will then play again during the Centennial Ceremony, which begins at 1 pm, Sunday, May 29.
The U.S. Marine Band is
called “The President’s Own” because it has played music
at events with the president dating back to before President Rutherford B. Hayes’ time in office.
