June 2015
And since all this loveliness cannot be Heaven, I know in my heart it is June.
– Abba Woolson
It’s the month of roses, weddings, strawberry picking and freshly mown lawns. It’s not too hot...not too windy...not too rainy. It’s “almost perfect” June, and the lakeshore beckons. Sail on in to our north coast cities and towns and immerse yourself in the arts, entertainment, and warm-weather cultural events. It’s June! It’s summer! Get out there!
Third Thursdays And Fourth Thursdays:
Outdoor Cultural Delights
On any day of the week, Vermilion and Port Clinton are lovely lakefront towns to wander through, for drinking and dining, and for viewing gorgeous sunsets. One Thursday evening a month, however, their downtowns come alive with live music and local art. From 5:30-8pm every fourth Thursday Port Clinton hosts their Art Walk,
offering beautiful artwork and crafts and the opportunity to interact with many area artists. New this year is “Live Art!” at Friendship Park, where an artist will be making, performing or creating live art.
Vermilion is the place to be on third Thursdays, as their “Third Thursday: Music, Flowers and a Sunset” is in full swing from 6:30-sunset. Stroll through downtown, along the Vermilion River and Lake Erie and hear over a dozen bands and solo artists performing for free. Country, Alternative, Rock, Christian, R&B...nearly every musical genre is represented.
Come celebrate “Friday Eve” on the lake and experience the best of local artists and musicians!
