The Huron Playhouse Announces The 2017 Season
The Fantasticks, Next To Normal, 12 Angry Jurors and Peter And The Starcatcher, are the productions that make up the 2017 Huron Playhouse season.
Huron’s professional summer stock theatre will open its 69th season on July 4th with The Fantasticks which runs July 4-7, under the artistic direction of Nick Hrutkay, . The winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score, and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Next to Normal is next running July 11-14 and directed by Nick Hrutkay. Next up is Reginald Rose’s immortal classic 12 Angry Jurors, directed by Jennifer Wertz, runs from July 18-21. The season draws to a close with the hysterical Tony Award winning hit Peter and the Starcatcher. It opens July 25 and concludes July 28 and is directed by Nick Hrutkay.

Donation To Enhance New Marblehead Branch Library
Ida Rupp Public Library of Port Clinton would like to thank Ex Libris, its members, and its Library Committee for their generous donation to the Marblehead Peninsula Branch Library. Library committee members in attendance for the check presentation were Halle Bruening, Lorrie Halblaub, Tom Hetzel, Mary Ann Hickey, Maureen Kennedy, Kathy Krueger, Maryanne Laubner, Lynn Pasheilich, and Carol Wise. Their gift, a check in the amount of $40,000.00, was presented to Ida Rupp Public Library Board President James Widmer and Director Tim Hagen. The donation is earmarked toward building features at the new Marblehead Branch that will enhance the availability and use of the community meeting rooms: a high-quality moveable, divider wall and security gates.
