Compassionate Care
Continued from page 19
Communication, socialization, and bright light are considerations the caregiver can incor- porate into daily care for the loved one. Research has shown that caregivers are often at risk for de- pression and illness especially if they do not get support from family, friends, and the commu- nity. Keep moving, eat well, and join an online community or support group to help you cope. ALZConnected.org is provided by the Alzhei- mer’s Association and is a free online community for everyone affected by Alzheimer’s disease. To learn more about Alzheimer’s disease and re- sources for caregivers, visit www.alz.org.
