Mother Nature has bad news for lakefront homeowners. High water levels are here to stay. Last year, Lake Erie set five consecutive monthly high water records as well as the all-time record high in June.
Homeowners faced water levels and erosion they had never seen before. Boaters had trouble getting into and out of docks and marinas. Some beaches disappeared and businesses were affected by flooded roads and property.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says that levels are forecasted to be high for at least the next five years. Homeowners with lakefront property want to protect their investment and enjoy nature’s beauty.
