your entire body balances and this increases your risk of falling.
Limping: Limping is an outward sign of sig- nificant pain and discomfort resultant of leg, an- kle or foot pain. As a person limps they overload other joints of the leg, ankle and foot in a way that causes abnormal wear of bone and joint contrib- uting to arthritic changes throughout the body. When a person limps they don’t have a normal center of balance and are less steady with even the most basic of daily activity. This loss of stability often goes without treatment. People just right it off as “just what happens with age”. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Limping is never nor- mal and certainly isn’t just a fact of life or old age. Each of us is given one set of equipment, our inventory that is our body and all of its parts. If you have been blessed with good health then it is likely that you have enjoyed weight bearing activities for fun and hard work over the years. taking care of those around us instead of giving time and caring to ourselves. A single face to face discussion often targets the source of dysfunction and will open the door to a diagnosis that can eliminate that limp. Isn’t now the time for taking care of yourself?
Falling: A single fall can be life changing. Reducing the discomfort and deformity in your feet and ankles will reduce your risk of falling and ALL the collateral damage that affects life and living thereafter. Simple evaluation and man- agement of leg, foot and ankle deformity can be the difference between your stability and a fall. The best advice anyone can give a person to re- duce their risk of falling is to encourage them to be educated about their risk for falling. That can be easy as 1,2,3. Make a phone call to schedule a consultation, participate in surveys about your health both written and verbal and get the diag- noses that can be addressed to reduce tour risk of falling. You will be glad you did.
