Duck!
It’s not too early to make plans for next month’s Festival of Sail in downtown Sandusky, which will fea- ture the world’s largest rubber duck.
“Mama Duck” will make an appear- ance from July 12 through 15. She is
54 feet tall and weighs 1,300 lbs.
The Festival of Sail will be like
street fair during the day and
feature live, free music at night.
one of the many events that are
part of the Sandusky Bicentenni-
al Celebration.
Fridays, go to the Jefferson Street Pier in downtown Port Clinton for the Riverfront Live! con-
certs.
On July 4, the downtown area
will host a Stars and Stripes event during the day – which is the same day as the Art Walk Sandusky. The Boy with the Boot Bicen10K race will be held that morning.
Check the sandusky2018.com website for a full list of the bicentennial activities, which include walking tours, “Bicentennial Banter” lectures, and more.
Coming To Hoover Auditorium
Hoover Auditorium in Lakeside features a wide variety of acts during the summer. I’m most excited to see the Irish band We Ban- jo 3 on June 28. I saw them at The Listening Room in March. The Galway natives – two sets of brothers – had the entire room on their feet more than once. And yes, they do acknowledge the fact that the name doesn’t exactly make sense number-wise.
Music Outdoors
Ready for some free music? Throughout the summer, Sandusky’s Gazebo Concert Se- ries will be held on Tuesdays. The Norwalk Reservoir will be the site of Norwalk’s Free Summer Concert Series on Wednesdays. On
