... and Happy Holidays! There are many reasons
why the holidays are our favorite time of year. We enjoy the food, the holiday lights everywhere, the decorations on homes and businesses, the food (did I already say that?)
Perhaps the greatest reason we enjoy the holidays is because it gives us all an opportunity to reconnect with beloved family and dear friends to share the love and traditions of the season. Each year, we enjoy seeing how much our extended family and the children of friends have grown.
Here at Leisure Living Magazine, we are fortunate that many of our readers and advertisers have become good friends as well. While I don’t have any grandchildren of my own, I treasure meeting the grandchildren of friends and sharing their excitement at the holidays.
Recently, I attended the 20th anniversary celebration of the Ottawa County Community
Foundation. I was able to spend time with their Board President , Joy Roth of Catawba, and her grandchildren. Her granddaughter, Piper Grace Patellis, was the cover girl on Leisure Living Magazine in June, 2011. I took the photo of her at the 10 year celebration for the Ottawa County Community Foundation.
It was such a pleasure to see Joy and her grandchildren. Piper is growing into a lovely young lady as you can see from the photo that I took recently of Joy with Piper, her brother and cousin.
This holiday season, may we all focus on family and the joy that they bring to us.
