“Brody” Bringing Comfort and
Joy to Those in Need

“I feel that a dog should have a purpose,” be- gins Castalia native Holly Miller as she relates the story of her 95 lb Brindle Boxer named Brody. A beautiful brown, black and white “gentle giant” with velvety-soft ears, 7 year-old Brody serves as a therapy dog in facilities along our lakeshore as well as inland North Central Ohio.
“In 2012, my daughter Janet Craft found Brody advertised online in Washington Court House, Ohio. He was the last remaining pup of a litter of Boxers. On Labor
a calm demeanor, enjoying meeting other dogs, adults and children, handling new situations with ease, and demonstrating patience with people.
“When Brody was two years old our dog train- ing class at NorthCoast K9 decided to train all of the dogs to become therapy dogs,” says Holly. “So we trained, took the test, and all passed.”
The list of area facilities that regularly welcome Brody and Holly includes Margaretta Schools, Firelands Region- al Medical Center, Marblehead Penin- sula and Sandusky Libraries, The Cleveland Clinic, EHOVE, The Vet- erans’ Home in Sandusky, and the senior care cen- ters of The Wil- lows of Bellevue and the Commons of Providence in Sandusky.
