Autumn Splendor
Take a look around you. Tell me what you see!
If I pay close attention, many signs appear to me.
A subtle change of season has begun to show its face.
The sights and sounds of autumn have taken summers place.
Summer bird friends said goodbye and all have taken flight.
But crows and blue jay’s raucous calls disrupt our morning light.
Trees, once green, take on a much more beautiful display
As goldenrod and asters flaunt a colorful array.
Twinkles of the fireflies have slowly disappeared.
But choruses of cricket song gladly volunteered
To sing an autumn lullaby as sunlight fades from sight.
And gentle autumn breezes stir as evening turns to night.
So take a look around you.
Enjoy each gorgeous, harvest day!
As the summer leaves to takes its rest,
Autumn splendor is on its way.
