Magic In The Cornfield
On a hot and lazy summer day There is magic to behold.
In between the fresh, green rows A new world begins to unfold!
Birds come to enjoy this special retreat
As much, if not more than I do. I wonder what other guests I will meet!
I’m sure to encounter a few!
Soft tassels sway in the gentle breeze
And insects are everywhere. Then nighttime comes with other guests
To feast upon their share.
Raccoons and deer to name a few Come from far and near. Cicadas and the crickets Sing songs so loud and clear.
The air is cool, refreshing and sweet,
Covered by tall green corn.
A blessed relief from the stifling heat,
A magical story is born!
Yes, a whole new world awaits you. I think you will agree
As you walk into a cornfield It’s truly magical.....you’ll see!

• Remember, pets may take a little while to get used to a new place with new smells and sounds. Be patient and understand- ing of any bathroom accidents or unusual hiding as they establish themselves into a new environment and learn that the new home is a safe place.
