The Ottawa County Community Foundation re- cently accepted a check for $1,800 from charter boat captains Dave Spangler and Paul Pacholski, members of the Lake Erie Charter Boat Association. The purpose for this generous donation is to provide students in Ottawa County elementary and middle schools with an opportunity to attend a day- long field trip to Ohio State University’s Stone Labora-
tory on Gibraltar Island at Put-in-Bay.
Paul Pacholski, Presi- dent of the Lake Erie Char- ter Boat Association, em- phasized the organization’s belief in the importance of educating youth about crit- ical issues facing our lake. “This is a great opportuni- ty for the students to gain valuable hands-on learn- ing,” he said.
