Following a winter in hibernation, the Catawba Museum at Union Chapel reopened to the public on May 15, 2019. The plan for this season is to operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, until mid-Oc- tober. Hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
According to Connie Batterton, the Museum’s Curator, only a small num-
ber of the Sandusky Bay Ice Harvesting Industry exhibits remain from 2018. They have been largely re- placed with displays that tell Catawba Island’s sto- ry from geological birth to its present role as a recre- ational mecca.
