Catawba Museum Opens For Season
The Catawba Island Historical Society’s Museum at Union Chapel will open for its 4th season on Saturday May 8, 2021. Hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month until mid-October. There will be no charge for admission.
The Museum welcomed more than 500 visitors during 6 months of operation last year, even after the dampening impact of complying with all the pandemic restrictions.

They expect an increase in 2021 if the Nation’s health improves as anticipated. Several of the displays woven in to the Museum’s overall “Timeline of Catawba” theme have been refined and updated. A new exhibit honoring the three Island soldiers who died in combat while serving their Country will be added this year.
Union Chapel was built in 1888 to serve as a non- denominational Sunday school for area children.
