Hasselbach Meats Garners More State Awards
Hasselbach Meats re- cently participated in the Ohio Association of Meat Processors convention in Columbus, Ohio. Members of this Association represent all aspects of the meat indus- try.
During their meeting in- dustry members had a hands on session at the Ohio State meat science lab, a trade show exhibit, and educa- tional sessions pertaining to their businesses. They were treated to a banquet which served prime rib, pork loin, half chicken prepared by one of their own members. The Association’s scholarship committee also awarded $12,000 to eight students.
An additional feature of
the meeting was the mem- ber’s competition for recogni- tion of their homemade prod- ucts. Hasselbach Meats took the Grand champion award for their BBQ baby back ribs. They also were recognized as a Champion for their hicko- ry smoked bacon and sum- mer sausage; received first place for smoked turkey and smoked brisket; and won the specialty class with their ba- con wrapped chicken breast with asparagus and baby swiss cheese.
Hasselbach Meats is lo- cated at 4637 St Route 19, north of Fremont. Check out their gift boxes at has- selbachmeats.com. Think of them for your locally produced ham and meats!

So what did baby boomers do when Covid 19 confined them to their homes? Wine with DeWine at 2pm of course! Because Catharine and I were unable to get out and about for photos back then, we asked our readers to send us theirs. Here are some images of our Leisure Living Magazine readers during those almost daily briefings with Gov. DeWine, Lt. Gov. Husted and Dr. Acton.
Gov. Mike and Fran DeWine offer one of many weekday briefings for Ohioans on COVID 19.
Tea with Dr. Amy Acton suits Catharine Hadley of Port Clinton.
Denise and
Nick Richard now reside in Texas. They enjoyed Mimosas with Mike, because their program aired at an earlier time.
