Today, Gfell and his wife, Bobbie, have an antique shop called Sights & Sounds of Edison, located on Main St. in Milan. His workshop for making the wood horns is located in the back of the shop. The majority of their sales are wood horns and phonographs.
“We used to do major
shows all across the United States where phonograph collectors would gather. They were in New Jersey, Chicago and other areas. Major col- lectors from throughout the world would come to the shows,” he said.
Now, and especially since the pan- demic began, most of their sales are done on the internet. However, peo- ple who come to Milan to visit the Thomas Edison Birthplace Museum also enjoy visiting their shop to see the horns, phonographs and other
