Kurt was raised on a farm in eastern Lu- cas County, but Corinna had no farming expe- rience when they were married. Now, Corin- na wears many hats in their venture, one of which is marketing. “Every year I felt frus- trated as I tried to grow my customer base,” she said, “so I began to ex- plore online marketing to attract and retain more customers to our CSA.” One of her ear- ly marketing strategies was writing and posting
an A-Z Vegetable Storage Guide online for free in ex- change for email addresses. She then used those con- tacts to promote an early bird campaign so customers could sign up in the fall for the following season. Her retention rate for subscrib- ers went from 66% to 78% in just one year and she credits her current 76% re- tention rate to her digital marketing efforts.
Corinna’s success en- couraged her to create an audience of CSA farmers on Facebook who were in- terested in improving their marketing skills. “I believe farmers are looking for help to market their services to a new generation of digital buyers. Learning the art of digital marketing has not only catapulted my farm’s income and brand, but more importantly, it’s given me confidence that I finally know what I’m doing,” she
