Exciting Changes At

Since 1957, Romp’s a full-service Lake Erie
side of the scenic Vermilion River, providing family fun for both boaters and non-boaters alike – all within walking distance of Downtown Vermilion.
It was back in August of 1956, that Laura and Robb Romp agreed to purchase 15 acres of undeveloped swampland next to the river. The agreement was hashed out and signed on a brown paper bag, with the transfer of ownership finalized in January of 1957.
Since then, in three generations of family ownership, Romp’s has been transformed from marsh to one of Lake Erie’s best-known marinas.
The third generation and current management of Romp’s continue the developments and improvements started those many years ago.
Today, Romp’s features dockage for 250 boats, with steel floating docks in a self protected harbor with easy access to Lake Erie. Dock
amenities include a heated swimming pool, a multi- sport (basketball, tennis, shuffleboard, volleyball) court for those rainy days, a snack bar/lounge, large picnic shelters, a play area for children and a large, open grassy area for pets to play.
But you don’t have to be a boater to enjoy the exciting new improvements to some old favorites at Romp’s this summer!
An all-new play area adjacent to the Dairy Dock Ice Cream Stand gives children the opportunity toromponapirateship! And the all-new 18-hole Putter Port Miniature Golf Course will suit all lovers of the sport to a ‘tee,’ with accommodations for those with mobility issues.
